| Abstract |
Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey
This home at 11 Pond Street was the home of the famous primitive painter John Orne Johnson Frost and his immediate family. The exterior has a salt box roof, bay window, and original doorway. The Interior has exposed corner posts, original fireplace and supporting beams in attic. In 1952, thirty three of J.O.J. Frost paintings were found in the wall of the cellar stairwell, Since his paintings didn't sell very well, it is believed he put them there for insulation. See slide #17 for interesting information on the Frost paintings. |
